We’ve learned that the Cardinal Cupich will announce his decision for our grouping on Thursday, February 2, the feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the meeting and how to participate.
Our Grouping Feedback & Discernment Team presented to the Executive Committee of the Renew My Church Commission last week. Pray for Cardinal Cupich, our bishops, the Presbyteral Council, Church of the Holy Spirit, St. Marcelline, and St. Matthew, and the lay faithful who are leading the work of renewal within our archdiocese.
This Thursday, the four parishes will meet online with the Renew My Church Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will hear from us and seek clarification before making a recommendation that will be further evaluated by a Commission and then by the Presbyteral Council. After hearing from everyone, the Cardinal will make a decision in early to mid-January.
The work of our four parish’s Feedback and Discernment Process has been completed. A report team, which included a representative from each parish, completed a Feedback Summary Report over a period of about a month as the entire group had a chance to weigh in about the scenarios and ensure the content reflected the sense of the feedback we received from all involved, including you. On December 15th the report team and pastors will present the Feedback Summary to the Renew My Church Executive Committee. After this, there are a couple more committees that will give input about the scenarios before the Cardinal makes his decision in early to mid-January.
