Building up the Body of Christ with welcoming arms, loving hearts and joyful worship.
Mass Coordinators make sure that the all those persons called to serve at the table of the Lord are in place and prepared to serve with grace and reverence. The ministry welcomes the community to God’s House as if it was our own. It coordinates people and events so that our Masses will begin on time and pleasing to God. In turn, the Mass coordinators see their work as form of personal prayer.
Mass coordinators make sure that lectors are in place to read the Liturgy of the Word, Eucharistic Ministers are in place to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ, Ushers are present to help the assembly, and the Priest and altar servers are present. They prepare the communion vessels and other liturgical items needed for celebrations. The goal of mass coordinators is to make sure that all others called to serve at the table of God are in place and ready to serve God with grace and reverence.
Before Mass, Mass Coordinators with other liturgical ministers gather with a common prayer, knowing that we are God’s servants performing actions that will praise and serve our God and His Church.
Mass coordinators take delight in knowing that the Mass has touched the hearts and minds of the assembled people. They are faithful in their work knowing that through them the Lord saves His People.
To be a Mass coordinator participation is a liturgical ministry is required. It is helpful if a person has served for some time as a Eucharistic Minister. The coordinator needs to be well organized and should be able to solve problems in a clear, concise fashion. The coordinator will assign people to perform tasks and will make sure that those tasks are performed in a kind manner and according to parish practices. The coordinator also will make our home for the church a welcoming place for all people.
Mass coordinators serve as needed, with respect for their Mass preferences. There is no specific training for this ministry.
