Funeral Luncheon

Sharing Hospitality and Caring
The Funeral Luncheon Ministry offers a meal for the family following a funeral at St. Hubert.
It is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal, share stories, and share an embrace before going home.

We hope you will consider helping us.

What We’re About
At a time when families have so many things to take care of, we offer luncheons to help relieve one worry.
It is a way for the parish to show their concern and offer comfort in their time of bereavement. If you have experienced a family loss or the death of someone close, you may remember how much the gathering following the burial meant to you.

What Do We Do?

We are called into action on short notice when a family expresses interest. We rely on our list of volunteers whom we call to bake, cook or serve. They provide a welcoming and comforting atmosphere on behalf of our faith community.

How Can I Help?
If you can bake cookies, make a salad or another dish to share, that’s all the talent you need! There is no training necessary. You will be called when a funeral luncheon is requested and asked if you are able to provide a dish.

The number of funerals determines how often this ministry meets. If you are a server, it is about a 4 hour commitment per luncheon, while cooks may be needed a little longer. We appreciate any amount of time that you can give, as your schedule allows.
