FSA Overview

The St. Hubert Family and School Association (FSA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to serving St. Hubert School, its students, and its staff.  All of our activities are aimed at building school spirit and pride.  Here are a few of the many things we do to meet these objectives:

     For students, we offer
  • Cultural Event Assemblies
  • Christmas Santa Sale
  • Hot Dog Week and raffle
     For staff we provide
  • Funds for each teacher each school year to improve their classrooms
  • Several luncheons to celebrate school year milestones
  • Classroom aid program
  • Birthday gifts
     For parents, we offer
  • Enrichment activities, which have included a Road Rally and movie night
  • Speakers at the FSA meetings covering topics such as Internet safety
  • Discounts on Entertainment Books, Fannie May, and Sally Foster products
FSA Donations to the Parish
Each year FSA donates large items to benefit St. Hubert Parish.  Some of these items have included the new stage curtains and scoreboard for the multipurpose room, new classroom desks, snd computer technology upgrades for the school.  In 2010, we purchased new tables for the lunchroom and donated funds to assist in providing air conditioning for the classrooms.

FSA Funding
To help fund these activities, we run monthly Market Day sales and various other fundraisers.  If you would like to become a member, you can join for just $5 per school year.

FSA Volunteers
If you wish to volunteer, there are many opportunities, both during school hours or in the evenings.  You can offer as little or as much time as you have available.  We hope that each family will volunteer in some way during the school year.

Heartfelt Thanks to our School Families
As we reflect on everything for which we are thankful, FSA would like to extend its sincere appreciation for the support we receive from our school families who volunteer and participate in our events! We use all fundraiser proceeds to benefit the students, faculty and staff regularly through student enrichment activities, teacher luncheons, gifts for school classrooms, and much more. Some of the things we’ve done recently with your help:
  • Halloween Walk
  • Veterans’ Day Assembly
  • Entertainment Book Sale
  • Jimmy John’s fundraiser
  • The book fair
A special thanks to Claudine Gleeson for her beautiful and delicious presentation of holiday foods at the FSA General Meeting held Nov. 17!

Book Fair Increases St. Hubert School Library Offering!
FSA thanks all school families for their generous support of the book fair held during teacher conferences in October. Our wonderful staff of FSA volunteers used the proceeds to update the school library with new books and DVDs that the teachers and students requested. Our library has more than 11,000 books, making it one of the best libraries among all public and private schools in the area!

ROOM PARTIES
Each year the students enjoy having a classroom party (room parties) to celebrate Halloween and Christmas. These room parties are planned, organized and run by room parent volunteers. The room parent volunteers also provide snacks and drinks for the classes on Valentine’s Day. In order to make these events possible, we are requesting that each student send in $12.00 to help cover the costs of these parties.  Please follow this link to download the Room Party Form.

Get Involved! Meet School Families! Build Spirit!
FSA invites all parents to join us in building school spirit and pride by offering programs for school students and staff. There are several committees that have open positions or are in need of leadership shadowing for the 2011-2012 school year (see below). Volunteers can dedicate as little or as much time as they have available. Plus, volunteering is a great way to meet other parents.

If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact Stacey Ruben at staceyruben@aol.com or Rochelle Treni at rtreni@wowway.com

Halloween Walk:  There are currently two people (Maureen Ernandez and Michele Swiderski) heading this committee.  As you know this is a very big project and they are looking for a third person to help out.

Welcoming:  At the beginning of the school year (typically on the day before or first day of school) we host a welcoming breakfast for all new families to answer any questions they may have.  We are currently looking for someone to head this committee.

Sally Foster Wrapping Paper:  Ann Tripicchio is the current committee head and is looking for someone to shadow her in the 2011/2012 school year.

Used Uniforms:  We are looking for someone to head this committee.  It involves collecting used uniforms at the end of the year and putting together the sale on Student Information Day.

Program:  We try to have some sort of a speaker at 2 of the FSA general meetings every year.  This year we had Claudine Gleason to an appetiser and desert demonstration right before the holidays and then we had an internet safety speaker come in February.  We need a committee hear to put these events together.

Membership:  This committee head handle all sign ups and due collections and then puts together and distributes the FSA phone directory.  At Student Information Day you are responsible to taking in applications and dues at the membership table.

Catholic Schools Week:  Paulette Hoppesch currently runs this committee and is looking for a shadow for the 2011/2012 school year.  This committtee helps put together activities during Catholic Schools Week.

Santa Sale Co-Chair: This committee coordinates the Santa Sale, where students are able to shop for family and friends and learn about the joy that comes from giving. This is a one-time event that takes place in early December each year.
