The Saint Hubert Job and Networking Ministry offers job help assistance through programs and networking meeting each month. Please feel free to join us and to take advantage of these free programs for you, your family members and friends who are looking for work. Use the services and receive the free daily job listings provided. This Ministry is open to all occupations.

FOR THE NEWCOMER***; If you are new to Networking and/or job search, join us at St. Hubert, 6:00pm, prior to our regular meetings (on the second Monday of the month only). We’ll offer a one hour program on how to participate in a networking meeting effectively, the tools you’ll need, such as; Elevator speech, How to do a Handbill; and How to generate leads and contacts.

Events are non-denominational, free and open to all occupations. Bring your handbills or resumes and Network into your next position. Learn the fundamentals of careering and get the depth of knowledge provided through seminars and career topics offered. Refreshments are available.

Bring your resume for a personal evaluation by one of six HR, Search, or career counselors who will be on hand to give you their thoughts and suggestions. Bring a friend – This is for all occupations and levels.

January 23, 2010 – “GREEN Jobs“ - 9:00am to 12:00 Noon at St. Marcelline’s Church, 822 Springinsguth Rd. Schaumburg, IL. Learn about Green Jobs, what they are and where they are at from John Perricone, Program Manager -U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. John will share his recently successful program to help better understand where these Green jobs are and what they consist of to make the leap into tomorrow’s hot occupations. Informal networking will follow the presentation.

January 25, 2010 – “Using Social Networking in Job Search “- 7:00pm to 9:15pm at St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Jeff Mitchell, DeVry College will describe some of the tools and methods people are successfully using on social networks to find work. Covered will be Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and other sites and tools for the New Year, with new methodologies and heightened results.

February 4, 2010 (Thurs. Evening) – “Dynamic Networking” - 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Queen of the Rosary Church, 750 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village, IL. A very popular program conducted by Bob Podgorski for the novice and initiated in Networking. Bob will share his techniques and address many of the concerns about networking felt by many. This seminar will give you the active approach – different from the passive approach taught by others.

February 8, 2010*** - “Focus on Your Priorities” – 7:00pm to 9:15pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Our presenter is David Scurlock, Learning and Org. Development Professional. Dave will provide insights into how your focus can change the course of your job search to meet your priorities and how to determine those priorities.

February 22, 2010 – “9 Questions to Guide Your Careering” - 7:00pm to 9:15pm, St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Joining us will be Joe McLennon, Principle of McLennon, Associates, a consulting firm to employers in the not for profit sector. Joe will present a far reaching program that will give us 9 questions, when answered effectively, will change luck to a strategic plan.

February 27, 2010 – “YOU’RE HIRED – keys to winning the job” – 9:00am to 12:00 Noon, Countryside Unitarian Church, 1025 N. Smith Rd., Palatine, IL. We are pleased to present Ann Ferrell, Career Coach and professional life advisor when she presents a number of factors employers key on to hire into top positions. Informal networking will follow the presentation

March 22, 2010 – “Working with an Employment Agency” – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. 7:00pm to 9:15pm. Peter McTague with Casey Employment will present on working effectively with an Employment agency in these difficult times. He’ll cover expectations, realities, ways to build a relationship and insight into the current market.

March 27, 2010 – “Personal Branding” – Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Hts., IL 9:00am to 12 Noon. We are pleased to bring you Pamela Marte Professional Coach and President Inside/Out Coaching. Pamela will take us through the finer points of personal branding and what it means to your job search and career success.

April 10, 2010 – “Consulting as a Career Option” – St. Isidore Church, 427 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale, IL. 9:00am to 12 Noon. Bob Podgorski, coordinator of the St. Hubert Job Ministry will share his experience creating and running a successful consulting practice.

Vision/Mission

The Saint Hubert's Job and Networking Ministry was formed to assist people within our expanded community in their desire to become re-employed, better employed or those simply seeking a change in their career.

We are men and women who are looking for support, guidance, and assistance, in our job search within Christian Fellowship and community. Therefore Christian beliefs and fellowship will guide our Ministry, our meetings, our processes and our actions. We will provide practical job finding assistants and aids. These will include tools, materials, methodology and technique along with time to network with others to gain insight into targeted companies and industries. In addition, the Ministry will provide opportunities to discuss barriers inherent in the job search, options or solutions to career issues, and individualized communications. Resources such as spiritual strengthening, career guidance, Internet resources, presentations and helpful materials will be available at each meeting.

Skilled assistance referrals can also be found through this Ministry for those needing personal help outside of the job search environment.

Our primary purpose is to prepare the attendee to face the challenges of a new job search and to shorten the time of unemployment or alternative-employment connection.

Resume Assistance

Join us and our Ministry to have your resume reviewed by a professional communicator, Human Resources Professional or career counselor. Just bring a copy of your resume and one of our career professional will personally take the time to provide you with their overview of your resume, how it stands up to your specific desires and job search. They will also provide you with helpful suggestions for resume improvement and answer any career question you may have. Reservations are not necessary.

Seminar Series (Monthly)

Held on a monthly basis in partnership with neighboring Christian communities, the seminar series covers job search topics in a more detailed and extensive depth, and typically lasts approximately 2 hours.
